December 2, 2004: CIQR Event
Dr. Jenny Hwang, former CIQR fellow and first person to receive the CIQR
Certificate in Interpretive and Qualitative Research, and Dr. Demmler
Schenck, both recent PhDs from the Psychology Dept., gave their presentation,
"Struggling with location: A collaborative qualitative study of multicultural
counseling competence in
U.S. psychology." This event was marked by a lively discussion of
the relation of qualitative research to multicultural counseling, and
the celebration of a rare event, one of the very few collaborative dissertations
in psychology, upon which their presentation was based.
